- Why You Need to Document & Review Your 2020 Goals
We’ve been talking about setting goals for the last couple of weeks. How to make SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Time bound), Crushing Fear of Failure, Finding an Accountability Partner and finally we are wrapping up with a simple but effective way to Crush Your Goals in 2020! It’s simple. Just write your goals down. On paper, in the notes app on your iPhone, make a google document, just get them down! Then, the next step is to set a reminder to stay up to date on your goals. You will want to review them throughout the year so you can see the progression towards those goals. An easy way to do this is set up a reminder in your phone quarterly. A simple “Hey Siri, Remind me to check on the progress of my goals” We want you to succeed and reach your goals in 2020! What’s a goal you want to achieve in 2020?

- How to Protect Your Home While Away for the Holidays
We’ve all seen Home Alone and chuckled as Harry and Marv are scoping out the neighborhood looking for the perfect heist: a family going on vacation. As entertaining as the movie is, this scenario is not so farfetched as we would think. Many burglaries happen during the holiday season when it is well known that families are traveling for long periods of time. Unfortunately, not all of us have a brilliant and lucky Macaulay Culkin to defend our property and belongings. This is not only a concern for residential properties but business owners have to worry about their commercial properties as well! So how do we protect our property while we are gone? How do we keep an eye on things and ensure that they are taken care of? There are many solutions that can improve the security of your home or business during times of extended leave, but one particular solution stands out that offers great peace of mind for families traveling abroad: Cloud Based Camera Systems. Using a Cloud-Based Camera System like the Eagle Eye system allows you not only to see in real time what is happening at your front door (or any other exits), but also allows you to set parameters to be notified when events occur. For example, you can set a line across your front porch step that, when crossed, alerts you. You can then open the Eagle Eye mobile app and check to see if Santa has finally arrived with the presents, or if it is someone more nefarious. You may be 500 miles away, but you are fully prepared to protect your home from potential burglaries before they happen, rather than coming home to a disaster. The holidays are a time for fun, food, family and laughter. Installing a camera system in your residential or commercial property will allow you to rest easy knowing that you have control over your house no matter where you are. That constant nagging in the back of your head, wondering what might have happened while you are gone, is now gone, and you can now enjoy your holidays without distraction. - Baby, It’s Cold Outside: How to make your Home Welcoming & Safe during the Holidays
The holidays are a time of joy and laughter, of fellowship and celebration, as family and friends come in from all over to be together. As we often find around this time of year, the devil is often in the details. In order to make it a relaxing and special time, we often ironically get caught up in planning, worrying, and stressing about how it will all come together. With all of the family coming in and out of the house, and all of the shopping trips and errands to run, there arises a need to give your family members an option to get access to your home while you are gone, but with this need also comes security risks. You could make copies of your key, or leave the key under the mat, but these options greatly increase the likelihood of a key getting lost or misplaced, and especially in the holiday season, many trespassers are looking for these kinds of opportunities. This is a concerning problem, but thanks to the innovation of keyless entry technologies, this problem can be solved very easily and efficiently. A Keypad lock provides a homeowner with the ability to completely eliminate the need for a key. With a code, or even with a bluetooth enable smartphone, one can enter their home without turning a key at all. What’s more, codes can be passed out on a temporary basis, which means you are in control of your lock at all times. This is a solution that not only relieves some of the stress and worry of the holidays but it also provides better security by eliminating a physical keying system. At Loc Doc Security one of our values is Refined Quality; therefore we want to provide only the best parts and materials, that you can truly trust to protect you and your things. This is one of the reasons we install the Yale nexTouch lock. It is a keypad lock which can store up to 500 user codes, and also has zWave technology to connect with your smartphone. It is ANSI/BHMA Grade 1 Certified and weather resistant, meaning it is durable and long lasting for your outdoor application. Imagine now a last minute shopping trip to get Christmas presents and stocking stuffers. While you’re out you start getting phone calls: your plumber is on his way to look at your leaky faucet, and your grandparents flight landed early and will be home before you. Normally you start stressing about having to drop everything, right? Instead, your plumber and grandparents both have a separate code to get in. They both get access to your home which expires whenever you decide it will. Your life just got a little more stress and care free, and your holiday just got a little better. If thats the kind of freedom and security you want for your home, click here to purchas a nexTouch on your home It’s a great way to support local small business, have peace of mind during the holiday season, & it’s super easy to DIY and Install yourself!

- Actionable Gratitude: Who Are You Thankful For & Have You Told Them? | Monday Motivation with Chad
It’s that time of year again, where we gather around the table and say what we’re thankful for. But do we need to wait for the turkey to be carved or the stuffing to be passed before we think about what we’re thankful for? Is one time a year to say what we’re thankful for enough? You may be thankful for friends, or family, maybe your F3 or CrossFit family, someone at work that is there for you, or even a neighbor that encourages you. Our question for you today, have you told them? Putting action along with gratitude can be a game changer in relationships. Have you reached out through a phone call or a text or even a hand written letter and told that important person how much you appreciate them and why? This week, as we prepare to sit with family and friends, gather in a home and be thankful, we challenge you to proactively reach out to the people that have encouraged you, inspired you, and have been there for you. Let them know before thanksgiving day how thankful you are for them! Have a wonderful thanksgiving!
- Coaching the Coach | Monday Motivation with Chad Lingafelt
Setting a Personal Record is always exciting! Reaching an 8 minute and 8 second mile (the fastest I’ve run) didn’t happen on its own. When you start mentoring or coaching, your focus is usually centered on helping others. You start putting a lot of effort into coaching others and can often fail at recharging or allowing people to pour in to you. I set a Personal Record by having a coach who ran alongside kept the same pace. The 3rd mile is usually where I tend to slow down and sometimes even walk. In this run, something changed because I had a running coach. Having a coach who encouraged and pushed me through the first 2 miles was so transformational that by the 3rd mile, I was able to stretch and challenge myself! Thats when the P.R. happened! Keeping pace with someone else and letting them encourage and coach me along the run had a great impact. Often times in life, whether business or personal, we fail to allow people to be our coach. Or even worse, we unintentionally allow the people we surround ourselves with to be our coach. Our challenge for you today: Who are you intentionally allowing to coach you? Are you mindful of those in your life that are unintentionally coaching you?
- Overcoming Regret When You’ve Missed Opportunities | Monday Motivation with Chad Lingafelt
Missed Opportunities. Whether it’s a missed flight, missed romantic connection with someone, or missed business opportunity, there’s nothing worse than the feeling of regret when you miss an opportunity. We’v e all been there. However, there is hope for you! Here’s 2 things you can learn about handling these situations. Tip 1: Understand and Embrace that you can’t change what happened. You will need to reset and adapt to the current situation. Although you will want to, there is nothing beneficiary about dwelling on or obsessing over what could have been. Maybe take a minute to process what happened and why, but ultimately acknowledge that the moment has passed. Tip 2: Assess & Make Changes for the Future. You may have missed the opportunity, but you have to asses and make changes for the future. You can’t change what happened in the past but you can plan to change for the future so it doesn’t happen again. An easy way to do this is to recognize what caused you to miss the opportunity and what you should pay attention to or look closely at next time. You can learn and bounce back from a negative thought pattern and obsession over missed opportunities by focusing on the positive and being prepared for future opportunities. Have you ever missed an opportunity? How did you adjust? We’d love to hear from you!
- The Power of Performance | Monday Motivation with Chad Lingafelt
June 11, 1997 – Game 5 of the NBA Finals between the Chicago Bulls and Utah Jazz, also known as the “Flu Game” for Michael Jordan, was a make or break battle of champions. Certain stages bring out the best in people or a certain level of fight in people. The Power of Performance can be when you get on a certain stage, or a certain opportunity, or people around you pushing you to go further or stronger and its an amazing thing. It can transform something ordinary to something extraordinary just by allowing that pressure or the power of performance to change the way you carry yourself and the results that come because of it. The result of the NBA Finals situation and the power of performance, was the Chicago Bulls narrowly beating the Utah Jazz and Michael Jordan being touted as a hero for playing while sick. Michael Jordan knew it was important to be a major player in an important game and pushed through the sickness (with the help of rest breaks, ice packs to bring down his fever and a great support system) so that he could help bring the team to victory. Our question for you today allows for a little self examination. Are you calling out regularly or taking it easy? Do you phone it in? Or think what you are doing has no impact or isn’t important. How can you allow the power of performance to push you to a higher level? We’d love to hear from you. Let us know below if you’ve ever performed under pressure.
